Qualification of refugees and migrants as nursing assistants, caregivers and service workers according to §§ 43b, 45a, 53c SGB XI. Participation in the course and subsequent employment in these fields of work is also possible without a formal educational qualification. With a recognized school-leaving certificate, further training as a care worker or care specialist is possible.
The "Pathways to Care 3.0" project aims to inspire people with migration experience to work in the care and nursing professions in Thuringia in an even more targeted and practical way. In addition to training to become a care, service and nursing assistant in accordance with Sections 43b, 45a, 53b SGB XI, particular emphasis is placed on facilitating access to training for people without formal educational qualifications. This is achieved through an aptitude test and suitable preparatory measures that pave the way for training as a care assistant.
The qualification course includes
2 weeks of full-time instruction at the beginning, as well as an introductory phase in a work placement;
in the intermediate phase, approx. 22 weeks of dual qualification units (lessons from Monday to Wednesday from 8.30 a.m. to 3.15 p.m., practical days from Thursday to Friday);
at the end of the course, a final phase in the work placement, which is completed in the employment/care sector;
The teaching of theoretical and practical skills over the entire duration of the course as well as specialised German lessons and individual support measures;
Support during the practical phases in the care facilities;
socio-educational support (during the course and during labour market integration).
Participants are then supported in their search for a job or a training position (depending on the requirements) as a state-certified nursing assistant or state-certified nursing specialist.
